Juneau Career Firefighters Association is funding up to $1000.00 per year to graduating high school seniors who are regional residents as defined below. The scholarship monies will be divided evenly into two individual $500.00 awards.

Application requirements:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or vocational or technical school related to fire science, emergency management or related medical fields. 

  • Applicants must have a 2.0 or greater GPA 

  • Applicants must be graduating from a northern Southeast Alaska (Yakutat, Pelican area, Hoonah, Tenekee, Angoon, Gustavus, Haines, Skagway, Juneau) high school or equivalent, including homeschool and GED students

Completed applications must be submitted via email link below, along with the following documents:  

  • Completed application signed by applicant, counselor, and/or principal, and parent/guardian.

  • A letter not exceeding two pages on family and school background, future education plans, and career goals. 

  • A letter of recommendation from a community member (not related to the applicant).

  • An acceptance letter from the school or program they are planning to attend.

  • A copy of a current high school transcript

Announcement of awards shall be made through your guidance office or at graduation.
